GHA 13 – 10 Biggar

Try’s from Ross McClymont and Hefin O’Hare were enough to secure a narrow but hard fought victory over the visitors from Biggar on Saturday.

After an early penalty to GHA skipper Andrew Gilman, the score remained poised at 3-0 to the home side until McClymont’s try midway through the second half. Biggar responded with two tries from their forwards to put them 10-8 in front before a 60 metre effort from Hefin O’Hare secured a deserved victory for GHA.

Injury and unavailability forced GHA to field an inexperienced pack but the young players showed up well against the much larger Biggar forwards.

With the start of the season now less than a fortnight away (27th August at home to Dumfries Saints), GHA’s final preseason game is a tasty local derby at home to old foes Hillhead/Jordanhill this Saturday (20th August) KO 3pm.
