GHA RFC held their first Mini Rugby Camp last week with a total of 32 Kids attending from P4-P7 age groups. All the kids had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves – the good weather did help(Suntan Lotion was required on most days!!!!!!).
Graeme and I would like to thank Johnny Leitch, Jack White, & Murray Houston for coming along and helping with the coaching duties. Also a big thank you to Sandy Carmichael who came down and had a chat with the boys and took part in a Q&A session.
Johnny Macnamara took the boys for strength and conditioning sessions on Monday and Wednesday morning which the kids loved. On Wednesday afternoon some GHA 1XV players came down and had a run around with all the boys – thanks to them too.
Big Thanks go to Claire Marchelletta for helping with everything in the background and putting up with us, Beth & Natalie for providing the wraparound care that was organised by the club, The kitchen staff for providing a 2 course lunch every day for all the kids & also McCormick print & promotion for supplying the Camp Certificates.
The Foundation has now been set for future Mini Rugby Camps to be held at GHA RFC which will help all the kids develop their skills and have FUN learning rugby in a great environment.
The Biggest thanks is to all the boys who attended the Camp, a great bunch of characters to coach and develop which made the week a pleasure to be part of.
