Peter Jericevich returns in GHA colours.
GHA v Ayr, Saturday 9th Aug KO 230pm.
GHA’s preseason fixture schedule begins with a tough match at Braidholm against Premiership side Ayr this Saturday. GHA’s U20s will also play their Ayr counterparts at 1230pm as a curtain raiser to the 1st XV game. Match entry is FREE so come along and see how the team is shaping up for the season ahead.
Among the GHA ranks is returning player and newly appointed player/coach Peter Jericevich who rejoined us from Ayr at the end of last season. The GHA/Ayr connection includes former GHA player and Glasgow Warrior Calum Forrester who was appointed Ayr Head Coach this season.
GHA Head Coach Craig Sorbie is looking forward to the match against one of Scotland’s leading club’s in recent seasons.
He said – “The boys have been put in a lot of hard work over the past 7 weeks in preparation for the season ahead.
“The game against Ayr will help us to measure ourselves against Premiership oppostion and ultimately set a standard for the season ahead.”
GHA have a number of new faces at the club this season although unfortunately not all are available for Saturday’s clash but amongst those making a welcome return after missing most of last season due to injury are former captain Niall Cassie, scrum half Andrew Gilman and second row Adam Barnett.
