In a change to the original schedule, GHA will now travel to Raeburn Place, site of the first ever rugby International, to play Edinburgh Accies on the 18th of August in their final preseason fixture before the season starts proper at home to Dalziel on August 25th. GHA were due to play Howe of Fife however the men from the kingdom withdrew from the fixture.

GHA coach Stuart Lang is delighted that Scotland’s oldest club have been secured as the club’s final preseason opponents. Stuart said – “Playing a Premier One side will be a big challenge for the team and ultimately this game will help us to set our standards for the season against top class opposition.”

GHA have been drawn in the same group as Ayr in this season’s Scottish Cup so this fixture should provide a good litmus test for the much anticipated double header against last year’s Scottish Cup runners’ up. The game will also provide an opportunity for ex-Scotland team mates Andrew Henderson and Simon Webster to be reacquainted on opposing teams after Webster recently committed to Accies for the coming season.

Before travelling to Raeburn Place, GHA will first face Biggar at Braidholm on August 4th and Hillhead/Jordanhill, also at Braidholm, on August 11th. All kick offs will be 3pm.
