GHA squads for derby double header

Pictured: Nigel Kelly will make his competitive 1st team debut on Saturday.

GHA’s 1st XV and 2nd XV make the short trip to Glasgow’s West End this Saturday to play Hillhead/Jordanhill in what is always a tough fixture between the two clubs.

GHA will hand a 1st team debut to 18 year old winger Nigel Kelly, another exciting prospect from the GHA Academy – he will be the 6th U19 player to play 1st team rugby at the club so far this season. Also, making his first start, is 19 year old Hooker Gordon Campbell who has impressed off of the bench in recent weeks.

Andrew Gillman returns at full back after illness and former Glasgow Hawks Centre Gavin MacDonald will also play his first game for the club.

Paul Harkins will skipper the team.

The GHA 2nd XV sees the return of 18 year old Hooker Lewis Anderson who underwent a minor operation at the beginning of September. The Scotland U18 Hooker will be looking to regain his fitness and outstanding early season form after 8 weeks on the sidelines. Club legend Ian Nelson is on the bench alongside last week’s hero Glen Scott who won the game at Cartha with a last minute penalty goal.

Please note that both Kick Offs are 130pm due to the International.
