Following a fantastic weekend of rugby that included an impressive home win, GHA will finish their BT National League 1 season in Dundee on Saturday as they look to defend their second place position and secure the spot in the promotion play-off game.

GHA racked up a remarkable 11 tries last weekend in their final home game against Hillhead, giving them a well-deserved bonus point and putting what little distance they could between themselves and table rivals Stewart’s Melville.

This weekend may be the deciding weekend for the BT National League 1 promotion spot, however it is very much all to play for at the bottom of the Premiership.

With several games still to be played, Boroughmuir, Glasgow Hawks and Stirling County are still in the running to take the opposing position against either GHA or Stew Mel in the play-off game.

GHA will however be concentrating on their own game this weekend and will be looking to showcase the strength in play that has taken them this far.

The Braidholm side may only need a win to secure the coveted spot in the play-offs but will be not be under the impression that the fifth place club will be easily beaten.

Dundee have had a mixed season that has left them sitting in the middle of the table but their position in no way reflects their ability to play a strong and well-structured game –something GHA fell victim to during their first fixture at Braidholm back in November and saw Dundee take away a five try victory.

A repeat of the precision, speed and attack exhibited by GHA in the Hillhead game on Saturday is crucial in order to deny a heady Dundee side the victory that they will no doubt be looking for in order to finish their own season off at home on a high.

Stewart’s Melville meanwhile, will face Peebles this weekend and will no doubt be looking to secure a comfortable win in the hope that GHA will hand them a life-line as a loss for GHA and a win for Stewart’s Melville will see them take second.

However, an ever impressive GHA side will be looking to do nothing of the sort as they head to Dundee to maintain their winning streak and secure themselves the promotion play-off spot.
