GHA suffered one of the heaviest defeats in their history after Stew Mel scored 39 unanswered points in a clinical second half display.

The game was a cagey affair early on with both sides failing to establish themselves. GHA lost Chris Binnie to a hamstring strain mid way through the first half and then went down to 14 men when Second Row Simon Shearer was sin binned for a professional foul at a ruck. During this period Stew/Mel began to gain ascendancy and went in 20-6 up at the break after scoring 3 tries with GHA scoring 2 penalties from the boot of Murray Houston.

Stew Mel dominated possession in the second half and their pressure was rewarded with several late scores.
