GHA will take on Glasgow Hawks in the RBS West Regional Cup Final at Old Anniesland on Saturday (KO 3pm). The meeting will be the first game between the two Glasgow clubs since January 2008.

The Southsiders booked their place in the final after defeating Hillhead/Jordanhill 39-22 at
Braidholm. GHA Captain Andy Henderson knows they will have to be at their best if they are to come away with the silverware. He said:

“They are a quality side being in the top league. They have some excellent players and will be used to a quicker pace playing in the league above us. We know we will have to raise our game and we will have to play at our best to stand a chance. I think it will be good to test ourselves and see where we stand compared to the top teams. We will have to put in our best performance of the season. We will have a good week of training this week and go out and take the game to them.”

GHA have had a disappointing league campaign this season winning 4 of their 14 games.

Meanwhile Glasgow Hawks have also won just 4 of their 14 league games in the Premiership
and haven’t won in the league since October. Both have left their best form for the Cup and GHA Captain Andy Henderson is eager to add the West Regional Cup trophy to the Championship A title won last season. He said:

“It will be massive if we win on Saturday. This season has been a bit disappointing
losing quite a few games in the league and not being in a good position in the league. But to have a cup final and win it and have something to show for the season will be a massive boost for the club.”
