Jon Welsh, the former GHA prop, has signed a new three-year contract with Glasgow Warriors. He joined Warriors in 2008 after impressive performances for Scotlands Club International team, and he has become a regular starter at loose head this season. He made his debut for Scotland A in the win against Tonga at Galashiels two months ago, and he will train with Scotlands Six Nations squad at St Andrews next week.
Welsh, as reported on Warriors website, is thrilled to agree a new contract before he joins up with the national squad for the first time. “It was always my ambition to stay here in Glasgow, he said. “Thankfully thats worked out. Im now looking to continue the way Im going and give it my all in a Glasgow jersey.
“Glasgow is my home town, and every time I run out onto the Firhill pitch its fantastic. I now just want to focus on playing my rugby with Glasgow Warriors.
