The Hearts & Balls charity for injured rugby players and along with Poppyscotland (who help injured soldiers), are holding a major fundraising event on 15 May, this year.

It is a walk/run of 29 miles over the Southern Upland Way from St Mary’s Loch to Melrose RFC. It can be done in bronze (12 miles), silver (21 miles) or gold (29 miles).

Oer 650 participants took part last year and raised over £230k. More information is on www.heartsandheroes.co.uk

Can you let me know if you would be interested in taking part in this event and at what level? I am hoping to do the Gold event so will be looking for another 3 to do it with me. I hope we’ll be able to get a couple of teams from the club.

Anyone interested in taking part in the Hearts and Hero’s challenge lease contact Paul Tyler asap by email ([email protected] )or on Facebook. Also if you know anyone outwith the club who would be interested please forward the email onto them.
