GHA produced a dominant performance to convincingly defeat local Southside rivals Cartha QP in Friday night’s sevens tournament at Hughenden.
Hard fought group wins over West of Scotland, Glasgow Hawks and Garnock set-up the derby match with Cartha who had won their group ahead of GHK, Greenock and the home side, Hillhead Jordanhill. The final had added spice with GHA’s Andy Williamson up against younger brother Graham.
GHA took the game to Cartha from the first whistle playing a high tempo, high pressure game which forced several turn overs and mistakes from which GHA were able to profit. GHA were also more composed in possession and were clinical with the opportunities they created.
