GHA’s Midis squads reach the climax of their league or conference part of the season this weekend against Galant Conference rivals Perthshire. It has been a successful campaign by the 5 squads, with all boys having worked hard through training and matches to get to this stage against clubs whose boys have done the same – and the icing on the cake is the chance for our squads to be jointly declared Galant Conference champions for 2018/19 – plus a few of the squads still in the hunt for winning their age grade leagues.
Anyone who can get to one of the games on this Sunday to encourage the boys will be greatly received by them.

GALANT CONFERENCE – WHOLE CLUB (All squads results make up whole club performance each week)

After GHA topped their conference group in the first phase of the season, we qualified as part of the top 3 clubs from each of the 2 pools for the top group in the overall Galant Conference – in total the Galant conference encompasses 13 clubs.
As the table shows, now with the final round upon us a couple of good results this Sunday will see the GHA Midis clinch the conference title for the first time in this the fourth season of the conference structure.

For the individual squads all are sitting in the top 3 of their leagues with 4 of them still in the hunt for topping their Galant age grade league.

UNDER 16s
Second placed Under 16s are actually looking for a favour to claim their league. Sitting neck-&-neck with Currie, where teams tie on the table, the nod goes to the team who won their tied teams’ encounters. Last week’s win over GHA by Currie puts Currie in the ‘box seat’. HOWEVER, a win for our lads and if Dumfries Saints can upset Currie in that match up, then GHA will snatch the league.

UNDER 15s
It is a straight shoot out for our Under 15s against Perthshire on Sunday. A win for our boys will draw them level with this week’s guests on match points and would give the boys the league on the basis of a win on Sunday. Good luck!

UNDER 14s
The Under 14s are in a near unassailable position to finish in top spot for the conference campaign as at best the chasing pack can only draw level on match points, and with their wins over both Currie & Dumfries, they will retain top spot.

UNDER 13s
In their first season of conference / league rugby the Under 13s have had a cracking start. A win will confirm a top 3 finish in terms of the full 13-team conference – fantastic to all the squad on that start in their Midis time.

UNDER 18s
For the Under 18s – the status of the league is on ice for a week or 2. To complete their season they are still to play two rescheduled games against Dumfries Saints and Perthshire. But like the Under 14s, they are in a near unassailable position to top the Under 18s table – updates will follow over the coming weeks.
