Scott Stumbles floored GHA with two opportunistic tries and insisted his side have not given up hope of pipping neighbours Boroughmuir for the Premiership crown.

“Obviously Muir are a long way out in front, but there is still an awful lot of rugby to be played,” said the Watsonians scrum-half. “We have to keep our focus on our performances and see what transpires.” GHA coach Roddy Moir lamented: “It’s not the first time this season we have given away tries early on, and to be honest we gifted them three scores. We were 21-0 down before we got the pace of it.”

Other than the Stumbles tries, Mike Ker was also in excellent kicking form for Watsons, landing all three conversions and two penalties. The other touchdown came from Malo Mialo. GHA were awarded a penalty try for the collapse of a maul close to the line, while Jim Noonan claimed their other points with a try, two conversions and a penalty.
