The club is saddened to hear of the passing of Craig Hunter, a faithful and enthusiastic supporter of GHA (and earlier Clarkston and Glasgow Southern) for close on 50 years.

His two sons, Alan and George, played for the club – George also for Glasgow’s district age-group teams.

Craig was a keen golfer – member of Western Gailes and Whitecraigs Golf Club as well as the Braidholm Golfing Society from its inception more than 20 years ago.

In business Craig headed Hunter Demolition until his retirement. The company, founded in 1958, was reckoned to be one of the oldest demolition companies in the UK. Under his leadership the company won the World Demolition Contract of the Year award in 2013 for taking down the former Bank of Scotland building in Glasgow’s Queen Street.

Craig’s funeral will be held at the Linn Crematorium on Thursday the 11th October at 11 am.
