It will be a momentous day for the Club tomorrow with pre-match hospitality long sold out as we mark the 80th anniversary of one of our founder Clubs, Clarkston RFC. GHA Vice-President and former Clarkston captain Brian Tracey will host the lunch with generations of former Clarkstonians due to descend on their spiritual home for the reunion and celebration.

And on such a great occasion it seems fitting that Scott Carson (pictured), a true club legend who came through the junior section at Clarkston and GHA, will win his 100th cap for the 1st XV. Scott becomes only the 26th Centurion since the amalgamation in 2002. Scott’s career with GHA is an interesting one, having played all of his junior rugby and the first half of his senior rugby career as an inside centre in the 2nd XV, before, some would say, making the inevitable transition to front row where he has blossomed as a ball carrying forward who possesses a silky set of hands retained from his days in the mid field.

The game itself is a tasty one with 3rd place Selkirk the visitors and with ourselves lying 2 points behind in 4th. A win tomorrow for either side will put them in pole position for a top 3 finish with only 2 games to follow. In other changes we welcome back Ross Angus and Andrew Gillman to the starting team, as well as Max MacFarlane on the bench. Chris Binnie drops out due to injury and Adam Barnett is away.
