?GHA are delighted to announce that former Club Captain Trevor Carmichael has been appointed as GHA’s new Head Coach of Mini Rugby. Trevor is a UKCC Level 2 Coach who currently coaches the GHA S2s who he brought up through the mini age groups. Trevor is also the owner of the RugbyTots Shawlands franchise.

GHA Director of Rugby Rangi Jericevich said – “We are delighted to welcome Trevor into this new role at the club which we see as a key part of our strategy to improve the standard of coaching and training throughout our Mini section.

“Like all clubs, we rely heavily on parent volunteers to coach at junior level, many with varying levels of rugby playing and coaching experience. The Head Coach role is intended to act as a mentor in assisting, developing and upskilling our coaches to improve standards and provide a consistency of delivery across the Mini section.

“As a club we are committed to supporting our coaches as much as we can and Trevor will continue to encourage coaches to take their coaching qualifications with the SRU which the club covers the cost of.

“Trevor will work closely with or Academy Manager Euan Clark to ensure we are providing the highest level of support we can to our minis and graduating more players into our Academy progamme when they come up to Midi rugby.”

“Trevor’s coaching ability and ambition to not only develop himself as a coach but also help others made him the perfect candidate for the role. This is an exciting development for the club which has been enabled through the generous support of our new club and Academy sponsor, Ethigen.”
